THE MAN WHO GOT PREGNANT by Augusto Flameño Monsayac

Pincing my husband's cheeks so tightly and tapping his arms ang thighs repetitively and fast without any reason; feeling bloated and having pains and discomfort at my back and hips, without knowing these are already signs that I am already pregnant; feeling the glorious joy overwhelming in my body the moment I saw the two red lines when I did pregnancy test and, right away, excitedly calling my husband at around six in the morning (November 13, 2015) to tell him the good news, "Mahal, positive!"; having my first ultrasound for the confirmation of my being pregnant; everyday morning sickness that last for three months; craving to drink cocunut juice and having palatable desires to eat mango, camias, guava, binagoongang baboy, pineapple, turnips, jackfruit and avocado for my unusual nine months "paglilihi", while controling myself from eating too sweet, too salty and cold food and drinks; sensing for the very first time the movements of my baby in my womb as his peculiar greetings for me on my 35th birthday; hearing my baby's heartbeats- the most beautiful sound i have ever heard- on my fourth monthly check up; dreaming twice that I already gloriously gave birth to a healthy cute baby boy, who looks like his father, with curly hair; the amazement in knowing that the gender of my baby in my womb is ,indeed, a boy, based on my second ultrasound on my eighth month pregnancy...

(To be continued...)
