MOTHERS ARE FATHERS, TOO by Augusto Flameño Monsayac
Even though some say
I am our child's look-a-like
I must proudly confess
from within my grateful heart
That in the whole being
of our dear precious child
I always have a glimpse of you,
my lovely, amazing wife.
Every time I look at him/her,
he/she reminds me of you
And every thing you have done,
every thing you went through
From conceiving him/her in your womb
and in giving him/her birth, too
To triumphantly present him/her
as a living gift from you.
Whenever I watch him/her,
my spirit has a soulful prayer
How blessed he/she is to have you
as his/her loving mother
Who is doing her best
for his/her good health and care
And is willing to sacrifice
Her own life for him/her forever.
In dutifully performing
the responsibilities of a parent
You are his/her angel, heroine,
and best friend altogether;
You are a mother who can naturally
make him/ berfeel a father's presence
An epitome of "MOTHERS ARE FATHERS, TOO"
in it's truest essence.
Celebrating fatherhood
would never be definitely good
Without honoring mothers like you
in a special, joyful mood
So, as respectfully as I must,
as blissfully as I could
I wholeheartedly say, "THANK YOU,
MY EQUAL PARTNER IN PARENTHOOD."
